At the village
Nestled at the foot of a majestic tuff cliff, Cotignac is a Provencal village classified as a "Village of character" and very dynamic during the summer season, where Provencal art and crafts are well represented.
You can visit the amazing cave dwellings inside the cliff, then step outside and admire the views from the rooftops of the village to the Massif des Maures. Lose yourself in the small alleys of the old village to soak up the Provençal air and taste the charms of its typical atmospheres. Walk in its shaded streets steeped in history to the large lively courtyard where shops and café and restaurant terraces await you under the coolness of centuries-old plane trees.
At the entrance to the village, you can walk to the beautiful Gouffre waterfall, accessible on foot in 15 minutes along the river. An ideal walk to cool off in the heart of summer!
You can also go up to the sanctuary of Notre-Dame de Grâce, a famous haven of peace and a high place of pilgrimage since the 16th century.
Night life
In addition to the many restaurants, bars, and the village microbrewery, you will have a great offer of concerts, entertainment or night markets.
In addition, for film lovers, an outdoor film festival is held every summer for a month, with the cliff as a backdrop. Offering concert-cine evenings, classics, previews, animated films, etc. their programming always has something to satisfy young and old!
Cotignac has attracted artists for a long time… Painters and sculptors have chosen the village to establish their workshops, and to take advantage of its special atmosphere for their creations. At the bend of the calades, and on the Cours Gambetta, one meets successively jewelers, wood turner, ceramists, art galleries, museums, designer of clothes ...
Finally, Cotignac is an excellent base camp for exploring Provence, the gorges du Verdon, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, the Côte d'Azur, the Iles d'Or, etc. between lazing days in our accommodation or alternating with a visit to the small typical neighboring villages.
We will be happy to advise you on Cotignac and the region as you wish!
